Excited faces left school at seven .
They told us - Igatpuri's a slice of heaven.
An impatient bus ride- four hour long.
So much fun was had- now writing this song.

Stopped for breakfast along the way.
'Drop you in the pool, if I may ? '
Everyone enjoying- shouts of Hurray .
Rain occasionally pelting- sky gathered with lovely clouds of grey.


A ride through the lush green hills.
Countless water falls and clear water rills.
Got off the bus - felt clouds surround.
Sudden peace, joy, contentment abound.


While little building- three storeys tall.
Just landed there & started a game with a ball.
Soon, everyone out in the corridor.
Throwing balls , smiles galore.


Then, right after lunch it begun.
Took off on a sightseeing run.
The Great White Cross. The White Scareghost.
The great winding stairway- raise a toast.


The Chinese tourist and his photographs.
Beautiful scenery and lots of laughs.
Serene , gushing , rocky waterfall.
Set amidst mountains- so tall.
Marvelled at by one and all.
Sheer wonder, making you feel small.


Evening- smiling faces - bright.
Dancing away into the night.
Colours many - astounding sight.
Drinking - something else mixed with Sprite.


Into rooms - on beds laid.
Sleep forgotten, fun plans made.
Giggling until darkness did fade.
Hushed ongoings like in anticipation of a raid.
Gossip shared , different games played.


Many movies were seen.
Challenge to keep the room unclean.
Whole night busy- sleep forgone.
Mingling began early next morn.


Early morning enjoyment galore.
While some, lazy, did choose to snore.
These memories are worth a crore.
Two days too less- wishing for more.


Introspect- quiet visit to Buddha's shrine.
A thinker with ideas ever so fine.
Awe-inspiring statue , set in gold.
All evil to good, wishing to mould.


Pandu-Lena Caves set atop a hill.
Reaching up, trying some climbing skill.
Paddy green around- thanks to the rain.
This offset by the muddy, rocky terrain.


Happy moments gathering memories spent.
Cave - gazing done, tired descent.
Hurried back, time crunch.
Rushed off after a quick lunch.


Boarded the bus & started for home.
With friends, so long did roam.
Last bout of fun - trip done.
Left memories to be cherished by everyone


Boundless happiness beyond measure.
Memories to preserve & forever treasure.
