What is this life if full of care
We have no time to stand and stare.
These words no longer fit.
A new few it's time to knit.

It isn't about time anymore
It's these problems galore.
You wouldn't understand if I set it out so plain
You'd retch & scowl in fear and disdain.

With Santa María & his men, he set out to sea.
To visit this land of mystery.
An expanse beyond measure.
To the land that held treasure

They'd heard stories of gems & gold
Mystic beauty that land did hold.
Not the expected old, 'twas the New World.
In an air of elegance ' twas twirled.

A lil different from the expected- to their dismay.
Of course, this folly wasn't identified straight away.
No sign of the promised treasures grand.
To send to their homeland .

They just decided on a new way.
They were going to be there to stay.
Portugal , later England ,followed Spain
To the new land whence they'd claim lain.

That was one story of being different.
Many men lives similarly spent.
Exploring, conquering nations that'd been free.
Each as important , as insignificant , you'd agree.

This one who'd gone on a conquering spree
Before he was even thirty three.
He'd done & gone before we'd heard of Christ.
Undeterred courage leading to a heist.

The Alps he had decided to cross
Bearing with the cold , the frost.
It's not the blood or the cross-country war
It's the adventure, the exploring he's known for !

The first plane two brothers had flown
Finding this big island down south, who'd have known !?
Of forests , minerals & people this unchartered territory.
The first one dared, then countless did scurry.

A land - route to the Orient.
Hard work to realise his intent.
Across mountain, plain & desert.
At each, with danger did flirt.

Of these brave hearts there isn't a dearth.
Sailed around to prove that round was our Earth.
Sailing around a continent to trade
Little or sudden, progress was made !

Going to where no man had been before.
Doing what no man had done , at the fore.
It's not about being brave, not knowing fear or scare
It's daring to dream and dreaming to dare !
