Long- lost

Embark on a search I did,
Wanting to discover where he hid
So long it certainly had been
Since he last was seen


Eight years may no be too long
Thinking about it as i write this song
I'd thought it'd be a piece of cake
But so much effort it did take


When finally one day, it did happen,
His response, my spirits did dampen
He didn't seem to remember me at all
Just wept and recollected the time we were small



It could have ended there
But it did not
This was just so unfair
I couldn't let the relation rot


One sudden day he did claim
To have forgotten only my name
"But that's the identity, don't you see"
"Another chance , we again friends can be"


Missed him as much as i had
Letting this chance go would be bad
Tried to refresh the memories lost
Had to get this going at any cost



Few days and many calls after
We indulged in long talks and laughter
Like meeting a stranger it was
Our eagerness helped the cause


Now it feels like we've known each other for ever
Consider losing him again I'd never
We're so dreadfully alike , almost arouses fear!
