Laying down their life, they were full of strife.
So many gave their lives for our motherland
Now, as saluting their efforts I stand
I promise to lend a helping hand
So that my country will progress and
Reach the highest-ever high
We must aim for the sky
Currently, in the Third World Category , we lie
To this status, we’ll soon say good-bye.

We are going to be number one
But only if, fairly, work for the good is done
There should be no corruption, I feel
Then the gaps and scars will heal.

Our rich heritage makes me proud
But some dark dealings make me shroud
I feel the need to proclaim aloud
Stop! Do not let them ruin it
I see the future only dimly lit
If we don’t immediately hit
And get them to realise that they’re wrong
Our country won’t be a peaceful, rhythmic song.

Here, everyone lives together, as if they’re the same
The politicians’ ideas and moves are just so lame
It’ll put even high-end Dons to shame
They just love to play the blame-game
If they instead work for India’s fame

Our history is so grand and vast
It’ll put to shame even the biggest mast
But these people’s ideas of making money fast
Will surely, if not curbed, make our country last

Let’s all just join together
And hope for good weather
For our India to float high as a feather
Give these people some sense
Else our future is dense
Pray for God to bless
And clean up the mess
Free us of the stress
And get India to the top
So that with joy we can hop.
